Ann has been involved in the New York City independent school community for over thirty years. She retired in July 2021 after thirteen years as Associate Director of the National Association of Episcopal Schools (NAES) where she focused on school leadership, identity, and governance. Before joining NAES, she headed St. Luke’s School in Greenwich Village for twelve years, and prior to that served as middle school head at Chapin and Poly Prep. She and her husband, Peter Helling, are devoted Brooklynites who live in Ditmas Park. She chairs the BHMS Audit Committee.
