Stephanie Pax Flanigan

Head of School

Stephanie Pax Flanigan joined BHMS in 2019 after an eighteen-year tenure as Head of School at the Montessori School of Denver. She began her journey at MSD as a parent, eventually becoming involved in the board of trustees, then moving into the school’s administration. Under her leadership, she expanded MSD from an elementary school to a toddler-8th grade school with space for an additional 70 children. Stephanie is the former President of the Association of Colorado Schools and for many years chaired its Accreditation Committee. She has deep experience in the operations and finances of a school and has led two successful capital campaigns. She has also worked as an education and governance consultant, working with boards and mentoring new heads of school. Stephanie holds a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College and a J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law. She has three Montessori-educated children. She and her husband John live in Brooklyn with their two dogs.
