  2. If we feel you have the right qualifications, we will contact you to set up an observation and interview. These observations are low-stress—you simply come in and spend two afternoons in our after school program from approximately 3 pm to 5:30 pm, engaging with students and playing with students. These observations give us a sense of your tone, language, and comfort level when working with children.

Open Positions:

Counselor

Title: Counselor

Supervisor: Head Counselor

General Responsibilities: The Counselor assists with the daily supervision and safety of a group of campers. In addition, a Counselor is responsible for the maintenance of the camp rooms.

Specific Duties:

The Counselor will...

  • Engage with campers
  • Keep camp rooms clean, orderly, organized, and stocked.
  • Assist with escorting the group to and from all activity areas and trips.
  • Lead groups to the Pool and swim as necessary.
  • Report any illness or injury to the Head Counselor and/or Health Director.
  • Attend all camp meetings and Division meetings to address schedule/issues
  • Assist Specialists with classes as necessary
  • Complete a staff evaluation
  • Arrive at camp on-time and depart at the scheduled time

Qualifications:

A Counselor must be 16 years old and a High School or College student. No camp experience is necessary, but experience working with children is required (ie: babysitting, mother’s helper)

The hours are 8:15am-3:30pm Monday through Friday with some exceptions.


Head Counselor

Title: Head Counselor

Supervisor: Division Leader

General Responsibilities: The Head Counselor is responsible for the daily supervision and safety of a group of campers. Supervise the Lead Counselor, Counselors, and CITs that are assigned to the group.

Specific Duties:

The Head Counselor will...

  • Plan and supervise the daily activities of the group.
  • Take daily attendance of the group and report absences to the Division Leader.
  • Bring camper attendance sheet to After Camp at the end of the day.
  • Report any illness or injury to the Division Leader and/or Health Director.
  • Escort the group to and from all activity areas and trips.
  • Lead groups to the Pool and swim as necessary.
  • Keep camp rooms clean, orderly, organized, and stocked.
  • Attend all camp meetings and Division meetings to address schedule/issues
  • Lead Teach classes as necessary
  • Read Camper Info Forms and debrief with counselors and Division Leader about camper issues
  • Complete a staff evaluation
  • Arrive at camp on-time and depart at the scheduled time
  • Meet with parents when necessary

Qualifications:

A Head Counselor must hold a minimum of an Associate's Degree. At least 2 years of camp experience or related experience is necessary.

The hours are 8:15am-3:30pm Monday through Friday with some exceptions.


Art Specialist

Title: Art Specialist

Supervisor: Camp Director/Division Leader

General Responsibilities: The Art Specialist is responsible for creating and implementing a general art curriculum for children in ages 5-12 years old. The Art Specialist will plan lessons, order supplies, and ensure the art spaces and materials are kept clean and organized.

Specific Duties:

The Art Specialist will...

  • Plan and implement art lessons for camp
  • Order art supplies and materials
  • Hang/install art projects each Session
  • Pack up camper artwork by Session
  • Plan 1-3 camp trips for older campers to museums, etc...
  • Manage and direct counselors that are placed in classes as support

Qualifications:

An Art Specialist must have an associate’s degree or above. Camp experience is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate is flexible, easy-going, organized, and creative.

The hours are 9:15am-3:15pm Monday through Friday with some exceptions.


The dates are June 20 to August 3.

Session I: June 20-29

Session II: July 2-July 20 (no camp July 4)

Session III: June 23-August 3


Weekly Salary: commensurate with experience
