Remote Learning in the Lower Elementary
In Lower Elementary student work consists of a balance of synchronous, asynchronous, and independent content. Students start the day with a morning meeting and meet in smaller groups throughout the week for new lessons and work reviews. As always, the curriculum includes new material in visual and performing arts, physical education, and Spanish. The teachers have created the Lower Elementary Remote Learning site where assignments are posted each week, recorded content is organized by subject area for students to extend their learning with new challenges beyond their live lessons or review concepts that they are still practicing.
In Lower Elementary, we are focused on balancing the curriculum with the social-emotional development of our students. We are committed to maintaining strong connections between teachers, students, and families. An important goal of remote learning in Lower Elementary is to help students establish learning independence by creating structure, predictability, continuity, and consistency.
