Kate Turley

Vice President

Kate has been an educator for four decades. In 2017, she completed eighteen years as Principal of City and Country School. Founded in 1914, City and Country is a recognized leader in progressive education for children from toddler through 8th Grade. Prior to City and Country, Kate was the Middle School Head at the Spence School. Throughout her long career, Kate has been an active member of many professional organizations. She fulfilled numerous roles for NYSAIS (New York State Association of Independent Schools), most recently as a Trustee and the Chair of NYSAIS’ Board of Commissioners on Accreditation. In 2019, she completed her service as a member of the Advisory Council of the School at Columbia University. Currently, along with the Board of BHMS, Kate is a Trustee of the Lycee Francais de New York. Kate earned her BA from the State University of New York. She has a MA in French Language and Literature from NYU and a MA in education from NYU in Education. Kate and her husband, Carl, live in Manhattan. She serves on the Audit and co-chairs the Committee on Trustees.
