What are the age requirements for admission?

When will parents be notified of admissions decisions?
Who comes when?
The parent/guardian interview is scheduled once an application form and fee have been submitted to the school. Please note the interview is for adults only. The format will be virtual.
What do I do if I have to cancel a scheduled admissions appointment?
Please email the Admissions Office immediately at admissions@bhmsny.org. We will make every attempt to reschedule cancelled appointments; however, be aware that during the busy admissions season rescheduling may be difficult and is not guaranteed.
What are the entry points?
The Twos Program and Preschool 3s are the largest entry points. However, every year children join the community in the Preschool 4s through Grade 7.
What are the program hours?
Is there Early Care and After Care available?
We offer fee based Early Morning Drop-Off (EMD) beginning at 8:00am for students age 3+.
FINANCIAL AID FAQS
What is the priority given to allocating financial aid awards?
BHMS allocates financial aid systematically: first to returning families currently receiving financial aid, then to current families who experience a change in economic circumstances and thirdly, to families applying to the School.
When should I apply and what is the Financial Aid Application deadline?
Apply in October and November, the year prior to the school year in which you plan to enroll or re-enroll. The deadline is December 1.
Who needs to apply?
Both custodial parents/guardians and non-custodial parents/guardians must complete a Financial Aid Application and follow the same procedures, regardless of marital status and financial arrangements dictated by legal settlements. A parent/guardian’s refusal to comply will jeopardize a student’s ability to receive aid.
Do I need to reapply for Financial Aid?

Do Financial Aid Awards change?
If a family’s financial situation has not changed the School will endeavor to continue to provide aid at a consistent level.
Can I appeal an award decision?
Yes, a family can make an appeal to the Director of Financial Aid. The Financial Aid Committee will request additional information to help the committee better understand the family’s financial situation.
How much Financial Aid is awarded?
Are Early Morning Drop-Off and After School Care discounted?
Yes, the cost of MAP (Montessori Afternoon Plus) and EMD (Early Morning Drop-Off) are offered at a discounted rate to BHMS families receiving financial aid.
What is expected of families?
The Financial Aid Application will be completed truthfully. All required documents will be submitted in a timely manner.
What can families expect of the school?
If the Financial Aid Application is complete, this includes all required supporting documentation, by the deadline, the School will make an award decision in accordance with the enrollment and re-enrollment deadlines.
