Chiara and her husband, Francesco Del Bufalo, have been BHMS parents since 2023 and have two children enrolled: Tommaso in second grade and Alberto in the preschool fours program. Chiara works as an ethnographic researcher to inform programs that address poverty in under-resourced communities across the country. Chiara graduated from Bates College and holds graduate degrees in Cultural Anthropology and Public Policy from University College London and The New School, respectively. In her first year on the BHMS Board of Trustees, Chiara served on the Strategic Planning Design Committee. Now in her second year, she continues to be committed to supporting the school’s ongoing work to center equity across all areas of community life. Originally from Italy, Chiara has lived in eight countries and speaks three languages.
