Stephanie Pax Flanigan joined BHMS in 2019 after an eighteen-year tenure as Head of School at the Montessori School of Denver. Under her leadership, she expanded MSD from a preschool-elementary school to a toddler-8th grade school as well as spearheaded a multi-million-dollar campus improvement project. Stephanie has a special interest in accreditation and governance and has deep experience as an education and governance consultant, working with boards and mentoring heads of school. She currently serves as both a Commissioner of the School Accreditation Commission of the American Montessori Society and a Commissioner of the New York State Association of Independent Schools Commission on Accreditation. Stephanie holds a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College and a J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law. She has three Montessori-educated children. She and her husband John live in Brooklyn with their two dogs.
