Stephanie Pax Flanigan joined BHMS in 2019 after an eighteen-year tenure as Head of School at the Montessori School of Denver. Stephanie has deep experience working with boards and mentoring heads of school as an education and governance consultant. She currently serves as both a Commissioner of the School Accreditation Commission of the American Montessori Society and a Commissioner of the New York State Association of Independent Schools Commission on Accreditation. She has also served as a trustee of independent schools and is currently a trustee of The Caedmon School. Stephanie holds a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College and a J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law. She has three Montessori-educated children and lives in Brooklyn with her husband and their two dogs.
