Mission Statement
As the Parent Diversity Group, here at BHMS, our approach is to educate our community on topics that may seem taboo to discuss in an open forum. We strive to help parents and children gain a better understanding of the world around us, the significant role we each play in society, and ways in which we can bring a different perspective on topics such as:
-
Age
-
Learning Differences / Style
-
Ability
-
Race
-
Ethnicity
-
Religion
-
Family Structure
-
Sexual Orientation
-
Gender
-
Socioeconomic Status
What We Do
The PDG sponsors four main events each year — like workshops, book groups, discussions, presentations from diversity professionals — to bring in the latest thinking around issues of diversity and social justice. All members of the community are welcomed to join and share their experiences or listen to the experiences of others.
