Rashidah Bowen White
Director of Peace Education
Dr. Rashidah Bowen White is joining BHMS this year as our new Director of Peace Education, steering the school forward in DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging) work. Rashidah has a wealth of expertise garnered from more than fifteen years dedicated to K-12 school-based mental health counseling and diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. Leveraging her profound insights and background, Rashidah serves as a consultant partnering with numerous PK-12 schools and nonprofits. Rashidah provides strategic counsel aimed at bolstering organizational initiatives, policies, and practices aimed at fostering culturally affirming environments, holistic well-being, and a profound sense of belonging for all stakeholders. In addition, Dr. White adeptly navigates through organizational landscapes, identifying opportunities for change management, and lends her support to school leaders in navigating both adaptive and transformative change processes. Dr. White is a proud alumna of Spelman College where she earned a B.A. in Psychology. She has also received an M.Ed. in Human Development Counseling from Vanderbilt University and an M.Phil and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Columbia University.
